How do I rent out my motorhome or caravan?

Modified on Thu, 15 Feb 2024 at 03:15 PM

1. Sign up on MyCamper

The first thing you need to do to be able to rent out your camping vehicle, is to fill in a profile about yourself. By doing so, potential renters can get an idea of who you are. You can click on the "Sign up now" button under the section "Become an owner".

Fill in your name, email address and define a password.

2. Create your vehicle profile

Once you have created a profile, you can start creating your vehicle profile. You do this by filling in information about the vehicle's basic data, its equipment, uploading photos, add the insurance information and making a description of the vehicle. You can also choose the best booking method for you and add rules to your vehicle profile, choose your cancellation policy and define your prices. As soon as you filled in all information you can publish your vehicle.

Keep in mind that after publishing you can still edit and adapt your vehicle profile.

Once you have published your vehicle, it is available for rent. Now you can also mark the dates you do not want to rent out the vehicle, to avoid getting unnecessary requests.

3. Get a booking request

Once you have published your vehicle, you can receive booking requests or instant bookings from verified users. The person who wishes to rent the vehicle sends a request to rent on specified dates.

Now you and the renter can also send messages to each other through the platform. The message function can, for example, be used to greet or ask questions regarding the booking. Therefore, it is good that you check if you get new messages regularly. You will also receive an email every time you receive a new message on MyCamper's website.

4. Accept the request

Once you have received a booking request, you have 24h to accept it. As soon as you've accepted the request the booking is completed. A downpayment has already been made and the rest of the rental fee has to be paid latest 30 days before the booking starts.

Expired or rejected requests will lead to a bad answer rate which is shown on your vehicle profile and impacts search results of renters.

You don't need to accept instant bookings.
