How does MyCamper's insurances work?

All vehicles rented out on MyCamper must have a full comprehensive insurance for the rental. Rental for a fee is not included per se in the existing vehicle insurance; insurance companies normally exclude this. 


Together with Baloise and Omocom, we have created specific insurance models tailored to our platform. For vehicles registered in Switzerland, Baloise covers the insurance, for vehicles in the Scandinavian countries it is Omocom. 


  • When creating your vehicle profile, you can select the appropriate insurance cover. You can view the insurance details under ‘Insurance’. 
  • The insurance prices are automatically added to the rental price.
  • The insurance is active as soon as the booking on MyCamper has been paid for and the check-in has been authorised. As the vehicle owner, you do not have to sign a contract for the insurance to be active.
