Currency for payment and refunds

Modified on Thu, 23 Jan at 5:35 PM

When you book a vehicle, the payment is made in the currency of the vehicle's location. For example, if the vehicle is based in Norway, you will be charged in NOK (Norwegian Krone), even if you are browsing the platform in a different language or currency, such as CHF (Swiss Franc).

Although the prices are displayed in your selected currency for convenience, the actual charge is processed in the vehicle's local currency, based on the exchange rate at the time of payment.

Refunds and Exchange Rate Differences

If a refund is issued after your booking, the refunded amount will also be processed in the vehicle's local currency. However, the exchange rate on the day of the refund may differ from the rate at the time of the original payment.

  • This could result in a slight difference in the final refunded amount when converted back to your currency.
  • Sometimes, this works in your favor, and other times it may not.

Why does this happen?

Exchange rate fluctuations are managed by the payment provider and external currency markets, not by MyCamper. These rates change daily and are outside MyCamper's control.
